iPod Competition Heating Up

In my direct marketing class at WVU, we are studying Apple. The iPod is a huge part of their recent sucesses and this NYT article helps get you up to speed quick.

Pogue relates to how the Apple iPod - although getting attacked for marketshare by the likes of a number of rivals - still is hands down the best bang for the buck. He relates how the design of the iPod's navigation wheel outperforms all rivals, and in doing so, stands above the crowd.

What I find interesting is how Apple has been doing this for decades - innovating, creative UI, etc. - and so few people realize it. I constantly chuckle when I on the class boards and how little people know.
Here is the NYT Times article.
